The Smart Window Sensor by Bronze Craft is a solar powered wireless device for the remote monitoring of window ambient conditions, security, and performance. The Smart Window Sensor monitors solar gain and thermal losses/gains to allow the HVAC system to evenly maintain human thermal comfort across all micro climates. The Smart Window Sensor also monitors humidity levels to aid in the prevention of unsafe mold levels. Integrated window hardware and magnetic sensors provide real time remote security monitoring and event logging for both opening/closing as well as locking/unlocking of the windows. The window relative humidity data combined with window temperature data can be used to monitor window seal integrity over the lifecycle of the window resulting in energy savings. Active monitoring of ambient light levels allows the Smart Window Sensor network to adjust interior lighting to appropriate levels by turning off window adjacent lights when excess solar lighting is available, resulting in energy savings. The sensor is solar powered and maintenance free. By creating a multi sensor network across the windows of a building, the Smart Window Sensor can both save energy and improve the occupant’s comfort levels.
