NEW YORK--New York House is proud to announce the judges for the third annual Innovative Green Design Awards (IGDA). Each judge is highly respected in their field, and New York House is honored to have them participate in the event. Judging is taking place in New York on August 10 and winners will be notified within one week. Check back to read coverage of the competition.

Paulette Cole is a visionary presence in both retail and socially responsible business. with Jean-Georges, is a eatery that uses fresh local ingredients and combines them with the ABC experience.Deepak Home Base, gives literary resources to those interested in expanding their mind. Cole is also working on creating a salon where leading scientists, sages, and luminaries can congregate.

Paul Gleicher, Founder of Gleicher Design Group, LEED AP.



Paul Gleicher is an accredited LEED practitioner,founder and president of Gleicher Design Group. He is also a Certified  member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and  member of the United States Green Building Council.

Prior to establishing his own practice in 1989 Gleicher was a Project Architect with the international firm of Davis Brody and Associates of New York for six years. There he specialized in new office buildings, theater design, and commercial renovations. He later moved to a Senior Associate’s position at Haverson / Rockwell Architects of New York for two years. His area of responsibilities included retail, office, restaurant, and residential renovation with a specialization in lighting design.  He has received many distinct honors such as the gold Medal in the 2002 Home Book Design excellence Awards, a national design competition recognizing “Outstanding Work in the Residential Luxury Home Market”.  His work has been mentioned in many publications including, New York TimesGood Housekeeping and Interior Design Magazine. The Gleicher Design Group’s projects include; Ecofriendly gut renovation of Gleicher’s townhouse on the Upper West Side of Manhattan; Gut renovation of the sprawling Manhattan apartment of actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick and their family; Renovation of former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s apartment and The New York City debut of DSW’s 30,000 square foot retail store near Ground Zero.



Doug Mazeffa, Research Director for Greenopia, the nation’s leading green directory.

Doug Mazeffa is responsible for creating the criteria for all of Greenopia’s business, product, and corporate directories. His environmental guides have been featured in USA Today, NBC, CNBC,iVillage, Huffington Post,Fast Company, Fox News, Slashfood, The Enquirer, as well as top media outlets. Mazeffa earned his Master's in Corporate Environmental Management from the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. During his time there he studied life cycle analysis, eco-labels, green markets,and consumer perception of the environment. His thesis revolved around analyzing which environmental attributes consumers cared about when making purchasing decisions, and how that information could accurately be portrayed on an eco-labels and environmental ratings. Mazeffa currently sits on the board of the Clean Business Certification and Clean Business Investment Summit. He resides in Santa Barbara, CA.

Cheryl Terrace, Owner of Vital Design, Ltd.


Cheryl Terrace, owner of eco-decorating and green interior design firm Vital Design Ltd. has dedicated her career to promoting  'human and earth friendly' design. In the business of creating greener homes since 1997, Terrace’s work has been featured in homes and businesses throughout the Hudson Valley. She has offices in Manhattan and upstate. She has participated in the renowned Kips Bay Decorator Show house in Manhattan, and was the first eco designer to be featured in their show house. She has been  featured on Planet Green Networks "Simply Green with Danny Seo" as well as publications like Traditional Home and Interior Design Magazine, Westchester Home, New York Living,Natural Home, Domino, Sustainable Residential Interiors, and New York House.

Robin Wilson, Founder of Robin Wilson Home

Robin Wilson, author and nationally recognized ecofriendly and healthy space interior consultant and designer, has set the standard for ecofriendly design. Wilson has become a leading advocate for clean construction methods. She is the first woman to license her name to ecofriendly kitchen cabinetry. Retailers will carry the Robin Wilson Home line of bedding and bath products and pillows by 2012. She will also appear on a segment of #1 rated HGTV television show “Selling New York” in Fall 2011.

Wilson began her environmental awareness in Austin, TX at the Lower Colorado River Authority and worked in the Energy Division at Mercer Management Consulting. She wrote Kennedy Green House (Greenleaf,2010) which has a foreword written by environmentalist, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.Her design firm Robin Wilson Home focuses on consultation with developers, new and retrofit design/construction, showhouses, healthcare facilities, office spaces, and residential clients. The firm is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) and affiliated with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).Projects have included the Harlem office of President Clinton, the White House Fellows office, and consultation with a leading international hotel chain. Wilson regularly appears in the media, has speaking engagements, and provides commentary in print and television, plus she provides regular consultations for clients on interior design. She was named an ambassador for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America in June 2011 and works to increase awareness of asthma and allergy issues due to indoor air quality.
