Friday, September 23rd at 7 p.m. The Grand Canyon: Power and Perseverance. Explore the Grand Canyon through a special evening of science and music. Aquatic Ecologist Emma Rosi-Marshall will discuss her field experiences in the Grand Canyon reach of the Colorado River; Cellist Rhonda Rider will perform a selection of original music inspired by the Canyon. Sunday, September 25th at 10 a.m. Forest Ecology Walk: cary institute/Hudson River Valley Ramble. Connect with nature while learning about how past land use practices shaped forests in the Hudson Valley. The moderate 2-mile walk encompasses habitats ranging from young forests and fallow fields to streams and wetlands. Led by Forest Ecologist Dr. Charles Canham, this event will meet at the Cary Institute (Gifford House) parking area, located at 2917 Sharon Tpk. (Rte. 44) in Millbrook, N.Y. Reservations suggested.
